Navigation — Live Satellite Tracking
Global navigation satellite systems — GPS/NAVSTAR, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou — are trackable live on WatchSat. Each satellite is propagated in real time from CelesTrak TLE data with the SGP4/SDP4 model. The current catalog holds 173 satellites in this group (catalog of 2026-09-17) — every one has its own live tracking page, and the Navigation directory lists them all.

Where the count comes from
That figure is not an estimate: it is the number of objects in this group in the catalog snapshot this page was built from — CelesTrak’s active satellite list, which is the working spacecraft only, not the far larger catalog of rocket bodies and debris that also orbit Earth. Objects are sorted into groups from their catalog names, the same rule the live globe uses for its colours, so what you count here and what you see there always agree. The snapshot is refreshed twice a week and every page is regenerated from it, so a newly launched satellite appears within days of being catalogued — see how many satellites are in orbit? for why any single number is always a snapshot rather than a constant.
