Terms of use
Last updated: August 24, 2026. These terms cover your use of WatchSat, the free satellite tracker at watchsat.live.
Acceptance
By using WatchSat, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
What WatchSat is
WatchSat is a free, client-side satellite tracker. There is no paid tier and no account required; the optional email pass alerts are the one server-side feature, covered by the privacy policy. Otherwise, the globe, the orbital math, and pass predictions all run in your own browser, and your location is never sent to WatchSat unless you sign up for alerts. Sky mode does fetch weather and ground imagery from third-party services using your approximate (rounded) coordinates; the privacy policy lists exactly what leaves your device. See About for how it works.
Informational use only
Orbital positions, pass predictions, and sky renders on WatchSat are estimates computed in your browser from public orbital data — not measurements, and not a live feed from any tracking network. They must not be used for operational, navigation, safety, or collision-avoidance purposes. Accuracy degrades as the underlying element sets age; see Data & methodology for the honest version of how good the numbers are.
Data & imagery
The orbital data, imagery, and other third-party content WatchSat displays belong to their original sources and are used under those sources’ own terms and licenses. See Credits & data sources for the full list and what each source allows.
Acceptable use
Use the site the way an ordinary visitor would. Do not scrape or send automated requests at a rate that could disrupt the service for other visitors, and do not misrepresent WatchSat’s output — as your own work, as official tracking data, or as anything more authoritative than a public-data visualization. If you want the underlying orbital data itself, get it from CelesTrak directly rather than scraping this site.
No warranty
WatchSat is provided “as is,” with no warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the site will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, or error-free. To the fullest extent the law allows, WatchSat is not liable for any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site changes. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest revision; continuing to use WatchSat after a change means you accept the update.
