Upcoming Rocket Launches

WatchSat tracks upcoming orbital launches worldwide — SpaceX and every other provider in the feed — with a live countdown to each one, the rocket and the launch pad it flies from, and a watch-live link whenever the provider has published a webcast. The soonest launch is pulled out at the top of the page; the rest follow in chronological order.

Where the schedule comes from

Launch data comes from The Space Devs Launch Library 2 (licensed CC BY 4.0), requested through WatchSat’s own edge proxy at /api/launches so repeat visits are served from the edge cache instead of re-hitting the upstream. The proxy trims each upstream record down to the handful of fields this page actually shows and returns at most the next 24 upcoming launches. Nothing here is written by hand: if a launch is not in that feed, it is not on this page.

How to read an entry

Every launch carries a target time — the NET (“no earlier than”) instant — plus a launch window, a status, a provider, a rocket, and a pad with its location. The countdown runs to T-0 at that NET time. The status is the upstream’s own: Go means the date is firm, TBD (to be determined) and TBC (to be confirmed) mean it is not, and Hold means an attempt is paused. WatchSat prints a “NET” prefix in front of any time whose status is not firm, so a soft date never reads as a promise. A window shown as a single instant is an instantaneous window — typical of rendezvous missions, where the target’s orbital plane decides the second of liftoff.

Why launch dates move

Launch dates slip. Weather at the pad, range conflicts, payload readiness and vehicle issues all push a date to the right — sometimes by hours, sometimes by months — and an instantaneous window means a scrub usually costs at least a day. That is why this page re-reads the feed rather than keeping a schedule of its own, and why a TBD date is best read as an intention rather than an appointment.

After the launch

Once a payload reaches orbit and the US Space Force catalogs it, CelesTrak publishes its orbital elements and the object turns up on WatchSat’s own pages — WatchSat’s catalog snapshot is refreshed twice a week, so a new object is usually trackable within days. Find it in the satellite directory, watch a fresh Starlink batch while it is still climbing as a visible train, check who is in space after a crew flight, or open the live tracker to see everything already up there.
