Other Active Satellites — Live Satellite Tracking

Thousands of additional active satellites — Earth observation, weather, communications, science and more — are trackable live on WatchSat, propagated in real time from CelesTrak TLE data using the SGP4 orbital model. The current catalog holds 4,464 satellites in this group (catalog of 2026-09-17) — every one has its own live tracking page, and the Other Active Satellites directory lists them all.

Where the count comes from

That figure is not an estimate: it is the number of objects in this group in the catalog snapshot this page was built from — CelesTrak’s active satellite list, which is the working spacecraft only, not the far larger catalog of rocket bodies and debris that also orbit Earth. Objects are sorted into groups from their catalog names, the same rule the live globe uses for its colours, so what you count here and what you see there always agree. The snapshot is refreshed twice a week and every page is regenerated from it, so a newly launched satellite appears within days of being catalogued — see how many satellites are in orbit? for why any single number is always a snapshot rather than a constant.

How to use this page

The globe above shows this group alone, each satellite at its real position for the current instant, propagated in your browser with SGP4/SDP4. Click one to read its orbit — inclination, period, perigee and apogee, straight off its element set — or open its own page for the full detail. Share your location and WatchSat will work out which of them are overhead and which can actually be seen with the naked eye.
